DaasaSahitya
Haridasa movement was initially started by Madhwa Acharyaru in 13th century. He composed Dwadasha Stotra – a group of 12 songs to sing along with his disciples. Dwadasha stotra is also considered as inspiration to all vaishnava saints after Madhwacharyaru to do Naadaopasana. Haridasa sahitya is prominently in kannada, has numerous contributors irrespective of caste, men and women alike, and is significant part of kannada literature.
“DasaraPadas” as these compositions are called, mainly aim to make people aware about the significance of Jnana(Knowledge), Bhakti(Devotion), Vairagya(detachment) in day to day life. The vast collection of these works contain DevaraNamas, Suladhis, MundigeGalu.
Here a humble attempt is made to collect these poetic and philosophical compositions together as and when possible. I am thankful to various WhatsApp forwards, books and several websites for their immense contribution in enriching my knowledge in Daasasahitya.
