Shastra

Harikathaamruthasara:

It is a magnum opus by Jagannatha Dasaru which has many prameyas listed together. It also has numerology associated roopa anusandhana. Not even samskruta texts have these specialties. It has all prameyas of sarvamoola granthas. The prameyas which cannot be understood by reading sarvamoola gratha can be understood easily by reading HKS. The name of the book was inspired by Madhwa acharya’s “Krishnaamrutha maharnava” which is a collection of shlokas from several other puranas. He replaced Krishna with Hari as Jagannatha Dasaru is Narasimha upasaka. Hari also means Narahari.  To know meaning of Krishna and Hari we have to split aksharas (according to vedic sampradaya) and not see the words as a whole.

  1. Krishna – krish (Dhaatu)+Na – A statue of bliss which descended to earth

Krishi – the place krishni is done, bhoomi

                  Na means ananda.

  • Krishna – Krishi – The one who is devoid of flaws, it depicts sath in sath-chith-ananda. The one who is definitely a source of pure happiness. Eventhough Jeevas are  also ananda swaroopa , their ananda is masked by dukha and is aaporna.
  •  Krishna – black – neela megha shyama – rama also means same. It is a colour of white, black and red.
  • Krashti iti krishnah – very attractive, uplifts from samsara bandhana .
  • Hari – harati iti harihi – breaks the bonds of samsara
  • Hara-same as hari. (According to samskruta sutra, trithiyaha atishaye , a, aa, e). When “a” in Hara is replaced by “e” in Hari, it denotes that Hari is the most powerful.
  • Krishna – Moksha pradhana

Sankhya shastara (numerology) – gaining Vedic knowledge through mathematics.

Anubava – outer experience, knowing external truth, through shastara.

Anubhava – inner experience, knowing inner truth, through sadhane. (In samskruta inserting mahaprana denotes Hyperbole).

Prathigyana vakhya:

harikathAmr^itasAra gurugaLa

karuNadiMda Apanitu pELuve

parama bhagavadbhaktaridanAdaradi kELuvudu

Totally 100 aksharas = dashapramati = poornapramati = completeness.

Apanitu = As much as possible by me, shows humbleness of Jagannatha dasaru, as even lakshmi cannot tell everything about Narayana.

gurugaLa karuNa = God is not achievable without Guru. In rigveda there is a saying that knowledgeable people are greater than God too as they give awareness about God to common people.

gurugaLa = Plural is used to denote as there is respect and fear about Guru. If God is angered he can be calmed down by Guru, but if Guru himself is angry there is no way to achieve redemption.

parama bhagavadbhakta – This is also a reference to shruti in Veda. One who has gurubhakti invariably will have bhagavadbhakti.  One who has all

“Yasya deve para bhaktih yatha deve thatha guru”

Adaradi –with interest, bhakti

Keluvudu – it is used as a verb though it is a noun. It is a humble request.
