We use grindstone to sharpen a sword. Similarly to sharpen our heart we have to learn Vedas (shastras) which are like grindstones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Shruti \u2013 Vedas, Shravana<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>nishAta \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Sharp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>nishAta+tamaiH \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Very sharp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>vimalaiH \u2013<\/em><\/strong> Clean\/sharp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>sumanO \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>sattvic heart, Pure heart, manana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>asibhi \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>With the sword, Remove all the weeds like kama, Krodha, moha from the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>dRuDam &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;Deep-rooted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Ashu nihatya dRuDam &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>Remove all unwanted deep-rooted things from the heart. To remove all these first we have to identify the home\/ hiding place of these unwanted things. These enemies enter through indriya, then manasu and then buddhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ashu<\/strong> &#8211; fast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>balinaM nijavairiNam &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;Strong enemies deep-rooted in the heart \u2013 Ajnana, Kama, Krodha, Moha, Lobha etc. &#8211; Shadripu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Krishna says Kama and Krodha are the only two enemies. Infact desire is the primary enemy, which gives raise to anger. Where there is no desire there is no anger. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>AtmatamO+bhidam \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Narayana culls darkness inside if we try to get rid of Shadripu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abhidam <\/strong>\u2013 Narayana\u2019s different roopas do not have any bheda<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Bhidam+Isham \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Upanishad calls Narayana as \u201cBhith \u2013 one who is the lord of all and hence is different from all\u201d.\u201d Bhidam \u2013 Bicchato harih\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Ananta \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>One who has infinite qualities in all kala, Desha<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>upeta harim \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Surrender to such a Hari<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is addressed to the devotee:<br>Oh.
